Twins get 3-month jail term for assaulting Thammasat lecturer

Twins were Thursday sentenced to three months in jail for assaulting Nitirat leader Worajet Pakeerat.
The court found Supoj Silarat and his twin brother, Supat Silarat, guilty of hitting Worajet at the Thammasat Universiti’s car park o February 29.
The court initially sentenced the twins to six months in jail but commuted the jail term by half because they confessed.
But Supoj was earlier given a suspended seven-month jail term for unlawfully carrying a gun. So the court ordered Supoj to serve the seven-month term as well.
The twins filed an appeal against the ruling and were released on bail by depositing Bt50,000 in cash as a guarantee.
