The former permanent secretary of the Social Development and Human Security Ministry, Panita Kambhu na Ayutthaya, will make a statement today at Rajvithi Residence about her transfer to an inactive post.

Panita will have 30 days to appeal the transfer, said Charuaypon Torranin, spokesperson of the Ethics Protection Board under the Office of Civil Service Commission. The Cabinet endorsed the move on Tuesday.

According to news reports, Panita was transferred because she “had not gone along” with high-priced plans for a new ministry building.

Charuaypon said her board was hearing an appeal from Thawil Pliansri, former secretary-general of the National Security Council who was also transferred to an inactive post.
The board’s senior panel will study Thawil’s written appeal within 30 days before returning a copy to him and handing a copy to Prime Minister Yingluck Shina-watra, as respondent.
