Tanusak, the odd man out

With merely Bt382,797 to his name, Deputy Finance Minister Tanusak Lekuthai is relatively poor compared to his millionaire colleagues, an asset statement released by the National Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday showed.

Tanusak is one of the 16 ministers appointed after the Cabinet reshuffle in January. Under the anti-graft law, Cabinet members need to declare their assets within 30 days of assuming office.
According to the statements, Deputy Prime Minister Yuthasak Sasiprapha has the highest net worth of Bt380 million, followed by PM’s Office Minister Nivatthamrong Boonsongpaisal, who has Bt137 million.
PM’s Office Minister Nalinee Taveesin has assets worth Bt18 million, while Deputy Agriculture Minister Natthawut Saikua has declared assets worth Bt16 million. Education Minister Suchart Tadathamrongvej has Bt30 million to his name and Transport Minister Charupong Ruangsuwan has Bt17 million, both trailing behind Deputy Transport Minister Chatchart Sithipan’s Bt40 million.
