Of the 5,000 applicants, 1,658 people are eligible for compensation that will range from Bt7.5 million to a lower rate depending on level of injuries sustained. Families of those killed will be paid Bt3 million in cash and the remainder in Government Savings Bank bonds.
Yongyuth added that only those who have never served a prison sentence and are not facing prosecution will be eligible, while those who have already received state funds would only get what is remaining.
