The chamber of commerce in Tak province has asked Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi to support the creation of a Mae Sot-Myawaddy special economic zone.
Banpot Kor-kiartcharern, president of the Tak chamber, said the organisation had written an open letter to Suu Kyi, seeking her help. The plan would benefit people of both countries, he said. Thailand is preparing to build a new highway and bridge linking Mae Sot with Myawaddy, he said.
