Major US stock indices mixed

Washington - Wall Street stocks were mixed Monday in the wake of last week's lows, which followed a dismal jobs report.
The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 17.11 points, o r0.14 per cent, to 12,101.46. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 Index edged up 0.14 points, or 0.01 per cent, to 1,278.18. The technology heavy Nasdaq Composite Index gained 12.53 points, or 0.46 per cent, to 2,760.01.
The US currency fell to 80.02 euro cents from 80.43 euro cents on Friday. The dollar rose against the Japanese currency to 78.36 yen from 78.01 yen.//DPA
