Students linked to drug network

Two recently graduated Bangkok students have been arrested with 806,000 yaba tablets, and 1.5 kilograms of "ice" in their possession, Metropolitan Police Area 9 chief Ratsadakorn Yingyong said yesterday.

The police investigation was a follow up from last year’s bust of a Taiwanese drug-dealing network, in which Karan Saeheng, in his 20s, was identified as a major dealer.
Police said Karan was apprehended driving a brand-new Benz sports car and transporting 6,000 yaba tablets. Police also arrested his accomplice Sitthi Sitthiwattana, 26, who had the key to a rented house in Bang Khunthien where they stored the narcotics. Upon raiding the house, police allegedly found another 800,000 yaba tablets, ice and three luxurious cars.
Acting Metropolitan Police Bureau Chief Kamronwit Thoopkrachang said the suspects reportedly confessed to obtaining the drugs from a Taiwanese network leader called Chen.
