H1N1 patients recovering

The 41 people who were infected with 2009 influenza A (H1N1) in Nakhon Ratchasima were recovering and had no symptoms of fever, coughing or sneezing, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajanagarindra Psychiatric Hospital director Dr Pitakpol Boonyamalik said yesterday.

No new swine-flu case had been reported so far, he added. The quarantined patients, six of whom were hospital staff members, would be observed for another 14 days before being sent home. Of these people, two were seriously ill hence transferred to Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital on June 13 where they were recovering. Affirming the hospital could prevent the virus spreading to the community, he said the hospital would undergo major disinfecting as a precaution afterwards.
