Pradelli: Italy will "go play football" against Germany in Euro
Play
Kiev - Italy's national team coach Cesare Pradelli on Monday said his side rightfully deserved to have defeated England in a Euro 2012 quarter-final, and that the Azurri intend to play full-bore football against their next opponent Germany.
"Germany are the favorites in this tournament along with Spain," Pradelli said at a post-game press conference. "To win against Germany we have to have everyone fit. We have some ideas about how to go about playing them, but we think it will be an open game."
"It is always an open game against Germany," he said, following his side's 4-2 victory Sunday evening in the Ukrainian capital Kiev. "We're going go out and take on our opponents."
Italy now was at a disadvantage against Germany, in part, because the Azurri will have one less day than their opponents to prepare for the upcoming Thursday semi-final match to be played in Polish capital Warsaw, Pradelli said.//DPA
