Pakistani held for ATM card scam

A Pakistani man was arrested for ATM card theft following the seizure of a skimmer device, a closed-circuit TV camera and 34 fake electronic cards from his apartment in Bangkok's Suan Luang district, police announced yesterday.

Mohammad Adeep, or Hasim, 45, was arrested after Krungthai Bank’s Bang Khen branch found the skimmer and camera at its ATM machine and filed a complaint on July 31.
He reportedly confessed, telling police that two Romanian men, believed to have already fled Thailand, invited him to commit the crime by using the cards to withdraw cash, of which he could keep 20 per cent. Police are hunting for Adeep’s accomplices and urged those who believe they are victims to help identify the man and check the fake cards at Bang Khen precinct.
