OIC may discuss southern violence: Yutthasak

The Internal Security Operations Command fears that the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) may take up the southern violence for deliberation if the violence continues unabated, Deputy Prime Minister Gen Yutthasak Sasiprapha said Friday.

Yutthasak was speaking to reporters after a meting of all government agencies concerned at the ISOC Area 4’s Forward Command in Pattani’s Yarang district at 1 pm.
The meeting discussed that if the violence continued during the last ten days of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, the OIC would take up the situation in Thailand’s Deep South for consideration and it would not bode well for the country, Yutthasak said.
