Rainmaking plane skids off Ubon airport

Ubon Ratchathani International Airport was closed for hours Wednesday after the Agriculture Ministry's rainmaking aircraft skidded off the runway, which became slippery after days of heavy downpours.

 

The CASA 212 aircraft, finishing the rainmaking operation in five lower northesatern provinces in the morning, skidded off the runway while landing at the runway on Wing 21 side. As fire engines and rescue workers checked probed the incident, which led to no injury, the airport was closed hence the Nok Air flight DD9315, to leave at 12.45pm, delayed pending the scene clearing.
