Democrat spokesman seeks action against city police chief

Democrat Party spokesman Ramet Rattanachaweng Monday requested the national police chief to take action against Bangkok Police Chief Pol Lt-General Kamronwit Thoopkrachang over his alleged dereliction of duty in paying a visit to fugitive former PM Thaksi

Ramet accused Kamronwit of violating the National Police Act 2003 and committing a serious disciplinary offence.
Kamronwit has admitted that he visited Thaksin and the picture of him posing with the former leader can be used as evidence, Ramet said.
“Kamronwit as a police officer needs to enforce the law but he does not seem to have the conscience of a policeman. He travelled far to visit a fugitive,’’ he said.
