Sakda urged the school to give these 36 youngsters normal-student status before it opens for the second term on October 20.
Ten people representing the parents who participated in the protest so their children could continue studying at the school met Sakda and officials from the Office of the Basic Education Commission (Obec) at 9am yesterday.
The school initially refused to allow the Grade 9 graduates to study in its senior secondary programme on the grounds that their academic records were not good enough, which was disputed by the students and parents.
The following was concluded at the meeting: The school should grant normal-student status to the 36 children and arrange classes to match their potential; if any of them want to study elsewhere the school should make appropriate arrangements; if problems stem from enrolment regulations set by Obec, the school should make appropriate adjustments and also consider preparedness for the Asean Economic Community; and Obec will act as mediator between the school and parents.
