Bangkok City Hall yesterday urged 5,200 building mangers to submit their properties to a safety inspection by Thursday or they could face a Bt10,000 fine and three-month imprisonment.
Prawet Councillor Kittipol Cherdchukij said that after an inspection was requested, officials from the metropolitan public works’ building control division and engineers would visit the building and review safety measures.
They will leave remedial instructions and conduct random surveys to see if the managers follow the instructions.
