Army chief in Yala to prepare for PM's visit

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will visit the deep south province of Yala next week, where she will preside over the opening of part of a highway in Thantho district, Army Commander in Chief Gen Prayuth Chanochai said Wednesday.
Prayuth was speaking during his visit to the province to prepare for Yingluck’s visit scheduled for November 22 and to be briefed on the situation in the region that has been hit by daily violence.
Yingluck is scheduled to chair the opening ceremony of a 1.125km route over Banglang Reservoir on the Yala-Betong Highway in Tambon Mae Wat. The army was assigned to construct the route and finished it within 720 days as planned.
