“We will promote cooperation among all parties concerned. I believe everybody wants to see communities get better,” NMG chairman Suthichai Yoon said yesterday.
He was speaking at the official launch of the initiative at the TCIF Tower in Bangkok’s Bang Na district. Representatives of key participants in this community-level network attended the event.
At the launch, Suthichai mentioned the hope of setting up a library, a field for sports as well a safety network for the Bang Na zone. This “society” will not just cover the Bang Na district but also neighbouring areas.
“We have already launched a fan page for the Bang Na Society and will be holding a mini-marathon soon,” he said.
Chalong Kweang-inn, Huachiew Chalermphrakiet University’s vice president, said his university would allow people to use the campus as an exercise ground as part of its contribution to the Bang Na Society.
“With Bang Na Society, people will have quick access to information and assistance. This is a very good initiative,” Thong Bai Community chairwoman Patchareerat Pannasap said.
Other key participants in the cooperative are TCIF, Dream World, Paradise Park, Arunsawat.com, BITEC, Mega-Bang Na, Premier, Big C, Viriya Insurance, Thainakharin Hospital, Sikarin Hospital and Chularat Hospital.
Also involved are the Samut Prakan provincial authority, Bang Na district office as well as police stations in Bang Na, Bang Phli, Samrong Nua and Phra Khanong.
Also participating are Ramkhamhaeng University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Latkrabang, Ratwinit Bangkaep School, La Salle School, Bangkok Mass Transit Authority and several other organisations.
