The first arrest was that of Ali Behnam Asadollahi on Sunday, and Mohammad Mehdi Manaei and Behtd Gharhyoz were nabbed three days later. According to police, all three suspects have pleaded guilty.
Deputy National Police Commissioner Lt-General Somyos Phumpanmuang said Chon Buri police had been monitoring the movement of this Iranian drug-trafficking gang for more than a year.
“We have finally been able to work out that their drug-manufacturing base was in Pattaya. So, we planned the arrests,” Somyos said.
He said Asadollahi was in charge of producing illicit drugs while his accomplices acted as drug deliverymen.
“This gang has eight members. We will nail down the remaining suspects who are still on the run,” Somyos added.
