Dow ends at another new high

U.S. shares closed up 5.22 points at 14,455.28 amid tight trade overnight, with the Dow posting its 9-straight gains streak since November 1996, while the S&P 500 was near its all-time closing high, adding 2.04 points to end at 1554.52.

Among key S&P sectors, industrial stocks led the best performers, while telecom shares fell.

Nasdaq composite rose 2.80 points to 3,245.12.
