Panels look out for exam cheats

Five fact-finding panels have been set up to check for cheating in the recent assistant teacher exams in 10 suspicious educational zones in the Northeast, Office of the Basic Education Commission (Obec) secretary-general Chinnapat Bhumirat said Tuesday.

He said he had signed to appoint the five panels Tuesday. Each panel is chaired by an inspector-general from the Education Ministry. They would conduct probes at Nongbualamphu, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Yasothon, Kalasin, Ubon Ratchathani and Nakhon Ratchasima.
“They have 30 days of inspection. After that they report the probes’ findings to Obec which will indicate [signs of] cheating in any of those educational zones, [when] Obec would set up disciplinary panels” said Chinnapat.
