The latest contract extension expires today.
NPO chief Adul Saengsingkaew said yesterday that police had followed all legal procedures and would definitely end their deal with PCC despite the company’s press conference to defend itself.
PCC claimed the delay in work stemmed from the late transfer of the station sites by police.
Adul said the initial damage assessment from the delays and the new construction-cost estimate would exceed the project’s initial budget. The final figures would come out after today.
Police spokesman Piya Uthayo said Adul had chaired a meeting yesterday of police units to discuss the project.
Police will explain at this afternoon’s briefing the reasons for not continuing with PCC and the NPO’s next moves to get the stations completed so that officers can return to performing their duties as usual, he said.
Whatever the contractor decides to do, it is within its rights and the NPO will be ready to fight in court, Piya said.
