The attacker merely wanted to stir things up and make the incident appear to be a political issue, he suggested.
Khamronwit said the security box in front of the newspaper’s offices in Chatuchak district had been subjected to a firecracker and petanqueball attack early Saturday morning in an incident possibly designed “to create a situation”.
Siroj Mingkwan, president of the Crime Reporters and Photographers Association of Thailand, said the attack looked to be a matter of criminal intent.
