Princess to launch Visakha Bucha celebrations
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will officially launch the Buddhism Promotion Week at Sanam Luang this Saturday as part of celebrations for Visakha Bucha Day.
Observed on the full-moon day of the sixth lunar month, Visakha Bucha marks the birth, enlightenment and passing of Buddha. The day falls on May 24 this year.
Tongthong Chandransu, permanent secretary for the PM’s Office, said Wednesday that the National Buddhism Office would hold several activities at the Buddhamondhol Park from Monday to next Friday.
