Oil Fund's levy on diesel cut

The Energy Policy Administrative Committee on Monday reduced the Oil Fund levy on diesel by 60 satang per litre to Bt2.40, effective tomorrow.

The committee, chaired by Energy Permanent Secretary Norkhun Sitthipong, said that the reduction will help keep retail diesel prices below Bt30 per litre.
Increasing global oil prices have now pressured the marketing fee of diesel to 93 satang per litre.
The Oil Fund's revenue would fall from Bt174 million a day to Bt140 million. Since June 5, the fund's financial position has been in the positive territory.
