DSI calls for luxury car tax scam pair to come in

The Department of Special Investigation Monday called for two businessmen allegedly involved in the transporting of six luxury cars that caught fire and revealed an on-going tax avoidance scheme, to turn themselves in before they were faced with arrest wa

Director-general Tharit Pengdit said the two men's identities were known among law enforcement forces and they still had time to surrender to the DSI.
He added there was proof verifying transactions involving tens of million baht by the two businessmen overseas, and that the six vehicles with suspect registration, four of which were gutted by fire, were possibly smuggled into Thailand from Malaysia.
The two men are known as key figures in the import sector of luxury cars, he said, adding that the DSI had obtained security camera footage showing links between the two men, and a known suspect, Nathee Rewthong who is on the run.
