Surapong addresses Asean ambassadors with strong "motivation"

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul threatened to transfer any Asean ambassadors who could not meet the performance target.

To Asean ambassadors who gathered in Bangkok today, he urged all to work harder in promoting trade and investment.
He told reporters later that all ambassadors are encouraged to work harder under the Yingluck government, which will definite last the four-year term. "I just wanted to motivate them", he said.
The minister added that some ambassadors have shown an improvement in performance. Next year, he would also consult with the permanent secretary over a reshuffle, which will affect some ambassadors and director-generals.
