MP's salary donations to Democrat Party do not violate the law, Office of the Election Commission deputy secretary-general Thanit Sriprathet said on Wednesday.
Thanit said that EC legal experts had agreed with the political party registrar that although the donations were not made in the form of cheques as outlined in the regulations, MP's salary deduction should be allowed as this should offer proper verification and transparency.
Over 150 Democrat and Bhum Jai Thai MPs had made donations to their parties via this means, he said.
The issue comes to rest, said Thanit.
