Chinese importers recall tainted NZ milk products

Beijing (dpa) - China's consumer quality watchdog has identified four companies that imported potentially contaminated products from New Zealand dairy company Fonterra, state media said Sunday.

Fonterra revealed Friday that some of its whey protein produced in May 2012 was found to be contaminated with clostridium botulinum, which can cause botulism.
Xinhua news agency quoted sources as saying the four importers had initiated recalls of potentially contaminated products.
