Joining the group are the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, the tourism and environment promotion association for Ban Chang-Map Ta Phut, community leaders and business operators in the area.
Sutha Hemsathol, the leader of the tourism and environment association, said all parties would work with Rayong province, PTT Group and local residents on Koh Samet. He said that while restoration of Ao Phrao would be the first agenda, in the medium term restoring confidence in Rayong seafood would be highlighted. Food activities may be hosted in Rayong.
"I wish all Thais lend a hand in restoring the confidence. Though Koh Samet has not yet returned to normal state, they can still come to relax themselves and enjoy seafood," he said.
