Heroin dealers arrested at Bang Na hotel

A Thai man and three Taiwanese nationals were arrested on Thursday for allegedly possessing about 200 kilograms of heroin and trying to smuggle it out of the country.

Police arrested Supadet Booncharoen, 40, in the parking lot of the Maple Hotel on Srinakharin Road in Bang Na district at 9.30am after finding 426 kilograms of heroin packed in six suitcases in a car allegedly belonging to Supadet.
The confiscated narcotics would fetch an estimated Bt426 million on the street.
Police moved in after receiving a tip that Supadet was smuggling drugs from the northern region to Bangkok. The suspect allegedly made an appointment with the Taiwanese at the hotel, where he checked in and left his car in the parking lot.
The Taiwanese were scheduled to fly back to Taiwan at 11am, police said.
