Families of Thai diplomats in Egypt ordered to leave country

Thai Foreign Ministry on Monday ordered evacuation of families of staff of Thai Embassy in Cairo, particularly women and Children, leaving behind only officials to coordinate and take care of Thai nationals voluntarily staying in Egypt.
Sihasak Phuangketkeow, permanent secretary for foreign affairs said Thai ambassador to Egypt Chalit Manitayakul would evaluate the situation on a daily basis and that the embassy would not close as long as the Egyptian government could assure the safety of foreigners.
