Khattiya, daughter of late Maj Gen Khattiya “Seh Daeng” Sawasdipol, raised objections about Democrat MPs refusing to be escorted out as ordered by the House chairman during the deliberations on charter amendment.
She had said the opposition MPs sounded like gibbons, which made the Parliament sound like a zoo.
This comment prompted Nattaya to raise objections, demanding that Khattiya retract the phrase. She added that the Parliament was meant for smart women, not just good-looking ones.
Khattiya responded by saying she could not help being younger and prettier, adding that she would not retract her statement because it was not aimed at any particular person. Her response won loud boos and jeers from the opposition.
The Pheu Thai MP eventually retracted her statement at the order of the House chairman Nikom Wairatpanij.
