Administrative Court refuses to issue injunction against LPG price's increase

The Central Administrative Court Tuesday decided against issuing an injunction to suspend the retail LGP price's increase as demanded by the Consumers Protection Foundation.

Judge Pairoj Minden, the spokesman of the Central Administrative Court, said during the hearing, the foundation failed to point out clearly how the National Energy Policy Council had violated the laws in deciding to hike the retail prices of the cooking gas.
Moreover, the court saw that the price’s increase would be carried out gradually by just 50 satang per a month and it would take up to 13 months before the full price of Bt24.82 per kilogramme would be enforced so the people would not be severely affected by the increase.
The court saw that the foods vendors can also register to buy the cooking gas at the same price.
