Supreme Court dismisses Phayathai 1 Hospital's defamation suit against mother

The court ruled in favour of Preeyanant Lorsermwattana who alleged that the hospital mishandled her delivery 19 years ago, causing her son to become handicapped with not equal legs.
Preeyanant, the chairwoman of the network of persons damaged by medical services, had made the allegation on a TV programme, prompting the hospital to sue her for Bt100 million in compensation for the hospital’s damaged reputation.
But the Supreme Court agreed with the primary and appeals court that Preeyanant was simply trying to defend her rights righteously so she did not violate the hospital as alleged.
