Chief coalition whip says amnesty bill passage sped up for fear of parliament besieging

Chief coalition whip Amnuay Klungpha said Friday that the coalition sped up the passage of the amnesty bill because it feared that the opposition would lead protesters to besiege parliament.

“We have learned the opposition’s plan. They will lead demonstrators from the Samsen railway station and Urupong Intersection to besiege parliament at 8 am to prevent the third-reading vote,” Amnuay said.
“We have sent our people to infiltrate the demonstrators so we learned of the plan.”
“We didn’t plan in advance to force for this,” Amnuay said.
