Thai, foreign students injured in Phuket's road accident

A 50-seat bus carrying Thai and foreign students lost control, hit an electricity pole, and plunged into a roadside ditch in Phuket yesterday.
As many as 49 passengers were hospitalised. Some of them sustained serious injuries.
Police said the students from the Asian Institute of Technology were on the educational visit to Phuket. The bus was moving up a steep road at the time of the accident.
Police believed the driver might have not been familiar with the road and ended up losing control of the vehicle.
