Bt4.6m heist at Tesco store in Chachoengsao

A group of robbers made off with Bt4.6 million after a heist of a bank's armoured cash-transport vehicle in Chachoengsao Friday morning.
The robbery occurred in the carpark of the Tesco Lotus Bang Wua store in Bang Pakong district.
Paitoon Witkajorn, the head of Krungthai Bank’s ATM cash-filling team for Chon Buri zone, said he saw at least three robbers. “All of them were hooded and wore bullet-proof vests.”
He said one of the men pointed a rifle at him while another forced Paitoon’s assistant Artit Tantranon at gunpoint to put three cash banks into the robbers’ vehicle. “They fled the scene in a Toyota Vigo,” Paitoon said. Police were investigating the case.
