Thai Patriots join rally, make demands over border temple

The Thai Patriots group kicked off a rally at Ratchaprasong intersection at noon yesterday, in protest at the government's blanket amnesty bill and the International Court of Justice's ruling on Preah Vihear.

The group, led by Tul Sitthisomwong, gathered outside CentralWorld first, with most members blowing whistles continuously and then marched past the Royal Thai Police headquarters to Rajdamnoen Avenue.
At the protest, they announced a three-point demand related to the ruling on Preah Vihear:
l For the government to not cancel the 1962 Cabinet resolution on the boundary near Preah Vihear;
l That the government drop its plan to amend Article 190, which would allow it to sign pacts with other countries without consulting the Parliament;
l That the government beef up troops to protect Thai territory near the temple.
