The Education Ministry is hosting a painting contest for primary students and an essay contest for secondary and undergraduate students, under the theme "My Province in the Year 2020".
Tossaporn Sirisampan, secretary-general of the Higher Education Commission, said the Education Ministry and the Interior Ministry had been assigned by the Prime Minister to host the contests.
The aim of the competition is to look beyond the launch of government infrastructure-development projects and the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015, to a time in 2020 when transport, logistics, border checkpoints and travel in the region will have changed dramatically.
Those interested to joining the contest can get more informa?tion at www.mua.go.th and www.moe.go.th or call 0 2610 5420 and 0 2288 5513. Students can submit their paintings or essays at their schools, which will then forward them to the local city hall. Students can also submit their works directly to their local city hall before December 9, said Tossaporn.
