The National Anti-Corruption Commission will today hold an urgent meeting on the petition that seeks the impeachment of Parliament president Somsak Kiatsuranont and vice president Nikom Wairatpanij after the Constitutional Court ruled to shoot down the amendment for an allelected Senate on Wednesday.
Pakdi Phosiri, a commissioner, said Thursday that the commission will discuss the court verdict and the petition against Somsak and Nikhom.
Earlier a group of Senators filed an impeachment petition with the commission against Somsak and Nikom for misconduct in organising the Parliamentary meeting to pass the bill.
Pakdi said it was up to the meeting to decide whether to launch an investigation following the petition.
