UN secretary general raises concerns about Thai protests

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has raised concerns about Thailand's rising political tensions caused by anti-government protesters seizing ministries.

"The secretary-general calls on all sides to exercise the utmost restraint, refrain from the use of violence and to show full respect for the rule of law and human rights," Ban said in a statement issued out of New York.
He also expressed concerns about the occupation of government offices by the protesters and encouraged "all concerned to resolve their differences through genuine dialogue and peaceful means."
