The situation around Ramkhamhaeng University and Rajamangala Stadium is still tense late Saturday night following clashes between red shirts and students from the campus.
The 199 emergency radio centre was alerted that a blaze happened on Soi Ramkhamhaeng 24 Section 10. Fire fighters rushed to the scene and found a Molotov cocktail had been hurled on the road but the fire did not spread to nearby buildings.
Because of the tense situation, the Center for Administration of Peace and Order deployed two or three helicopters to fly over the area to beam spotlights down on the roads.
Five companies of policemen were deployed to prevent more clashes.
