BTS enjoys record-breaking number of passenger Sunday
As anti-government protests took place at several areas across Bangkok City on Sunday (December 22), the number of passengers using the BTS Skytrain rose to the weekend record-breaking figure of 763,969 trip persons - compared to the usual weekend figure
The BTS’s highest number of passengers was at 783,914 trip persons on November 23.
The big crowd of BTS users was similar to that seen on December 9, when antigovernment protesters went to Government House as Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra announced the dissolution of Parliament. Passengers used the service for 767,305 trips on that day, which also brought in a record amount of revenue Bt20 million in a day – compared to the agency’s revenue averaging Bt18 million-Bt19 million a day.
