CMPO sees no need to extend state of emergency
Members of the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order saw no need to extend the state of emergency after it expires on March 22, Department of Special Investigation chief Tarit Pengdith said Thursday.
Tarit said members of the CMPO discussed the current political situation without issuing any resolution during a meeting Thursday and most of them saw that the state of emergency should not be extended.
He said most CMPO members saw that the enforcement of the law to deal with the situation should be reduced to the use of Internal Security Act, Tarit said.
