Supreme Administrative Court rules in favour of Chana gas pipeline project

The Supreme Administrative Court Thursday dismissed a lawsuit field by 17 villagers in Songkha against the Chana gas pipeline project.

The ruling in the ten-year-long case was read by the Sonkha Provincial Administrative Court.
The 17 residents of Chana district led by Kittipop Sutthisawang alleged that the report on the environment impact assessment was unlawful and that the Marine Transport Department had no right to issue a license for the Trans Thai-Malaysia Ltd to carry out the gas pipeline project from the Gulf of Thailand to Chana district.
But the Supreme Administrative Court ruled that the 17 residents had no justified cause to appeal against the project.
