New satellite analysis technique leads to crash conclusion

Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia says a new technique in analysing satellite data helped investigators conclude that the missing Malaysian airliner crashed in southern ocean.

Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein says the analysis "was convincing enough" for British aviation investigators to determine that the plane flew along the southern corridor, and its last position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean west of Perth.
"Within a few hours, the families had been informed, and the prime minister announced the new development to the world," he says.
