Seven shot in drag-strip gunfight

Police received a report that a gunfight broke out at Bangkok Drag Avenue about 30 minutes past midnight.
“The place was hosting its seventh midnight speed party when the shooting happened,” said Chatchai Phrakruthin, 26, one of the victims.
Chatchai said he was walking around the starting line on the track when he heard several gunshots and then felt a pain in his back.
Chatchai said some witnesses told him that a man known as Ken was the gunman.
Police have checked recordings from security cameras and are going after the attackers.
“It’s about rivalry between two racing gangs,” a police source said.
At least five firearms were used, he said. The two gangs have been at each other since they met at a competition in Chon Buri, he added.
