Prayuth says people happier

Chief of National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) General Prayuth Chan-ocha said Friday night that Thai people have been suffering for nine years but from May 20 until now people are happier.

The National Council for Peace and Order would not have ambition to hold power for self interest. But, it is necessary for the military to take control as normal laws and regulations could not work to end the conflict, Prayuth said.
“We understand the world society and modern international community which countries are heading toward democracy, but give us a chance and time to reform our system to adjust our democracy to meet international standard,” he said in a TV address.
