During a meeting of the council Gen Prayuth said that afterwards laws would have to be passed to realize reform initiatives but for the time being public relations activities were important.
Gen Prayuth told the meeting that the situation is improving and he would like to see an end to divisions among the people. He admitted the national reconciliation process would take time.
The NCPO chief assigned permanent secretaries of ministries to improve the work of government agencies and reaffirmed that the military council would not intervene in the improvement process.
He defined the improvement as development-oriented reform. Besides, Gen Prayuth said the Ministry of Interior and the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) would set up reconciliation centers in the provinces in two weeks. The ISOC will meet to outline reconciliation-oriented activities on June 4.
