Attachés hear of junta's good work

The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) yesterday invited foreign military attachés for a second briefing at Army headquarters.

Attachés from 22 embassies were invited, but 15 showed up. Canada, Sweden, China, India, South Korea, Pakistan and Russia all chose not to send attachés to the meeting.
NCPO spokesman Colonel Werachon Sukondhapatipak said he told the attachés that the military had intercepted weapons and arrested individuals involved in the “Khon Kaen Model” movement, which allegedly planned to instigate violence in the North and the Northeast.
The attachés also heard how there had been better regulation of public transport including public vans, taxis and motorcycle taxis.
